Professor Richard K. Burt is a Chief Division of Immunotherapy Northwestern University & Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago, IL). He was pioneering hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for treatment of autoimmune diseases. He conducted the first FDA-approved clinical trial for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for multiple sclerosis in US. Currently he is leading few clinical trials for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for different autoimmune diseases.
In this lecture he is speaking about experimental basis of those clinical trials and history of the first stem cell transplantation trial in US. Also he is speaking about current multicentral clinical trial for multiple sclerosis patients - MIST.
Lecture was recorded in University California of San Diego this year.
